I don't recommend reading here. If you must post, post blind. Especially responses. Reading the post you're responding to is the most common mistake I see here. It never works out.

I’ve always been curious as to the costs in terms of wear and tear on the starter. I’ve also never trusted the estimates on total gas savings. I believe ignition uses the same amount of fuel as 2-3 seconds of idling.

@taiwan_girl said in So who’s in DC?: @89th That looks very cool!!! But I suppose that place would just be a "rookie" in the UK, right @Doctor-Phibes There are English pubs where some of the food behind the bar was prepared before 1856.

For not getting involved in foreign affairs, we sure are getting involved a lot. BTW I predict there will be a peace deal made on July 11th

Our kids did a lemonade stand last year, will do one again this summer. Most sell for $1 or $2, which is stupid, we sold for 50 cents for lemonade or a cookie. They helped make the signs, and took care of the transactions, it was fun to watch them learn how to do it and also to appreciate the money afterwards so they could save it or buy a toy. A few folks gave a tip of $10 or $20 which was a thrill, probably both for the kids and the adult likely missing the days with their young kids. $2 for a can of pop in that affluent neighborhood above is just plain dumb. It's not even on ice.

@jon-nyc said in Brother Jim and Qatar: I checked his twitter feed. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by a half-billion dollar gift to the President. It’s almost like he has no principles, like the other 50 million or so maggots in the country. You forgot to add the 50 million or so hardcore leftists and maybe 20 million moderates.

@Copper said in Wow, Trump’s new Witch Doctor General pick is too insane for Laura Loomer: Clint Eastwood talks to the trees. It's OK. A lot of people did that in the 60's and 70's.

Poor Alan Rizzo. We used to send that kids pizzas so often it got to the point where the restaurants would call his house and verify before making it. Also, Safari Cards, Columbia Record House, and the Ginsu Knife Collection. Never a dull moment at the Rizzo household.

They drove there. Ban them from driving too. A strange target to make such an effort to destroy. It was about an hour drive from where we live. Had the two idiots just watched Robin Hood and taken childish offence at the historical inaccuracies? Apparently Trump(CF) was watching an Alcatraz film the day before he announced he wanted to reopen it, so TV crapola does influence! The tree was a relatively young common sycamore and hardly beloved. In fact reflecting, I'm surprised it hadn't been removed for potential damage to The Wall, a UNESCO archaeological treasure. Anyway, moving on.

@Mik said in Anybody ever get seats from Vivid Seats?: Since when is Seat Geek any more than a reseller? A lot of venues and tours have given up their own ticketing and contract it out to Seat Geek and others.

@jon-nyc said Except no, we're now paying the 10% when we buy anything British. The cost to you is reduced sales. True. Yet I'd predict that because of this international trade shitshow, my outgoings over the next year will rise more than the 5-10% they went up last year. The only winners are your Federal Government raking in new taxes, and those few who can take advantage of stock market liquidity.
